1. Is it approved?
   Startrek towbars are approved by BMW, Honda & Nissan. Some manufacturers do not have a system to approve local supplier (DCSA)
    
2. Will it damage my vehicle’s electrical system?
   No, because we use approved connectors and include a CPU Controller box which reads the vehicle CAMBUS (Computer language used by onboard computer systems) 
    
3. What guarantee do I have that Startrek towbar will not damage my vehicle?
   It was specially designed for your vehicle using high tech accurate components which will bolt onto the vehicle using the manufacturers designed load-bearing points. It also incorporates a specialized electronic system that integrates with the vehicle electronics or computerized system.
    
4. Must the bumper be cut?
   Mostly not, Startrek designs are optimized to eliminate bumper cutting & most BMW, Mercedes etc bumpers need no cutting. Unfortunately there are some bumpers that enclose the undercar area behind the sparewheel well & have to be cut with a small incision to allow the customer to get his/her hands behind the bumper to unlock the hitch and insert/remove the electrical plug. These incisions are never visible and will not have to be made on the rear vertical area of the bumper visible from the back.
    
5. Is a removable towbar as strong as a fixed one?
   Yes – and stronger than the other lesser known brand fixed tow bars.
    
6. Can the hitch unit unhook while I’m driving/towing?
   It’s impossible if you inserted the lock pin fully on the normal squire unit as per the instructions on the hitch plate.
   Executive model will drop out immediately after insertion if not fully locked.
   The added safety margin on both types is the tensioner, which must be fastened to place the mechanism under tension & eliminate play. This will ensure that the unit can not unhook even if metal fatigue should occur. It’s important to release the tensioner before unlocking the unit as it will not be able to unlock for removal, unless the tensioner is loose.
