I needed to have a new set of tires fitted to my Mercedes Benz C320 CDI which I recently acquired in Johannesburg. As is necessary in the current economic times I shopped around in Johannesburg as well as Cape Town and found that Autoquip in Loop Street were the most competitive, and made the decision to have the work done there.

I spoke to Dwain and he came across as extremely knowledgeable, he asked me a number of qualifying questions and then advised me on which product to purchase based on my needs, which he had gleaned by asking questions and listening. Even if this store had not been the most competitively priced I would probably still have had the work done here as I immediately trusted Dwain and felt very comfortable that I was getting professional advise.

When I went into the dealership yesterday, I was blown away by just how professional the entire experience was, from the lady who sat me down in the customer waiting area and made me coffee, the excellent merchandising, to the delightful cashier Rebecca, every one seemed to be enjoying what they were doing and certainly portrayed a sense of pride in their working environment as well as the work that each individual was carrying out.

The fitters were well presented and very pleasant, the wheel alignment technicians went to great lengths to show me the current settings and explain what was required to get the alignment right. Once the chaps had been to a great deal of trouble removing covers to enable them to set the alignment correctly, they were visibly delighted and extremely proud of the fact that they had been successful in getting the alignment 100%, not within tolerance, but 100%.

The next first for me was that the vehicle was road tested by the alignment technician!! this is a rarity, even in the franchised workshops these days.
The cherry on top was receiving a bottle of "autoquip" wine and my invoice and proof of payment in a Autoquip folder from Dwain as I left, I am truly blown away.

Having been in and on the periphery of the motor industry for 30 years, I would like to take this opportunity of congratulating your organization on having achieved, what in my humble opinion I consider to be, service excellence, many talk about it but Autoquip delivered on every aspect!

Well done I have told everyone who I have come into contact with and I certainly will not be going anywhere else for tires, this was the best purchase experience I have ever had, the retail industry could certainly learn from your organization.

I would like to start off with…..WOW……what awesome service you offer at your branch in Alberton. I was stunned with the amount of help and advice that your staff was willing to do for me. Not too sure if you will remember me, but here goes.

I was at Autoquip on Friday 01/05/09 to fit a set of rims and tyres on my Opel Corsa Utility. The way I see it is and sure it is that way that many people walk into your store on a daily basis and fit rims and tyres to their vehicles. So me walking in was just another one. Well, let me tell you about my experience at Autoquip.

First time I walked in was just to have a look at what you have on offer. I was immediately assisted by Bob after I decided on what I liked in your show room and was shown the combo deals that you had available. Told him that I would get back to him. Now obviously I had to do some shopping around as there are so many different styles around and specials. Well, let me tell you something I was not impressed with the competitors out there. Between not interested and way over priced it really scared me. One thing that attracted me to your store was that you were offering a good rim with trusted tyres which no one else could do. I then phoned on Thursday and could not get hold of Bob, but it was cool as all I wanted to do was see if you the rims in stock that I wanted, and was helped very quickly by Sheldon. Must say your guys really know what’s going on there and what you have in stock off the top their minds. You don’t hear or see much of that these days.

Anyway, I arrived there in the morning early and coincidently I was greeted by my car by Bob before I could even get out. I had pulled the car into the garage and was offered if I would like to see a few other rims on the car before I made my final choice. Well, there must have been about eight guys standing and looking with me. These were between sales reps and technicians. All standing with me and giving there bit of advice. That was cool and felt so welcome standing there, almost like I was in my own garage and your equipment was specially there for my pleasure. So then my choice was made and everyone got involved and believe it or not I don’t even thing I was there for an hour. Quite amazing!!!!!!

One more thing I would like to add, and that is you Jaco. Once the rims were fitted you had got up from your chair specially had a look. I understand that your first reaction is to say it looks good, but honestly I was very proud and really did like it and with help of your great staff a good choice was made. But what really impressed me was the fact that you took a interest and I guess we must have chatted for over a half hour but I was impressed as you can see.

Now what I would like to get to here is the following:

  • Well done to your staff on the floor
  • Bob is an amazing staff member and sure he will go a long way with your firm as he has an amazing attitude and is not scared to get his hands dirty.
  • Then to yourself Jaco. You have an awesome operation there. People can have good manners and do many things well but, I do believe that some guidance is often needed to excel even better. So whatever you are doing, you are doing damn good!!!!!

Now I don’t know what is your customer services contact details but I am sure you know it better than I do, so please would  you forward this on to them as I believe that good work must be made known to all as we don’t seem to get that very often these days. From my side I would just like to say well done, keep it up and I promise you that it’s not the last time that you will see me at your store and I will make sure that the word is spread well!!!!

"My family and I were on our way down to the Eastern Cape over the Easter weekend. I was pulling a trailer and pick up a vibration on the steering wheel. I had been travelling for 4 hour when I got into Bloemfontein at 07:00 in the morning. At this time I was concerned about this vibration, I don’t know Bloemfontein at all , so I got onto Nelson Mandela Drive and drove towards town looking for the first open tyre company I could find.

I saw Autoquip was open. As I pulled in and before I literally stopped Mauritz was there to greet us. I must say he was fantastic, he took my children to the waiting area so they could have hot chocolate and were comfortable. Mauritz was professional and respectfull and a pleasure to deal with. From my opinion his attitude shows that he is an asset to your company. I wish I could deal with more people like him.

He went out of his way to fit my new tyre, after BMW rubbish Run Flat Tyre Popped on my car, coming from Kimberley to Bloemfontein.
 
Another gentleman was there as well and he could not stop telling me how impressed he was with the service he received from Andre, the previous Saturday evening at 23h30 at night. And even later when his second tyre burst, Andre opened once again and assisted him.
