Autoquip raised funds to help orphans in Waterval Boven.

We received the below information about these children and "SWEETY"

• A 62 year old lady by the name of 'Sweety' takes all the orphans in to her home.
• She feeds them breakfast and lunch every day and Dinner on a Thursday and Saturday.
• 'Sweety' has a small house and no husband and has children of her own.
• Right now there are 62 kids that she tries to feed and take care of.
• She does not have a job and relies on the help from whoever is willing to assist, and her son who lives in JHB also tries to help whenever possible.
• Her mother (who has passed away) had a house and Sweety is trying to build it up and use it for the children to sleep in. Funds are short, so that could take quite some time.
• Because of her lack of space, she has to look for Foster Homes for most of the children during the week. Other than that many of them sleep on her floor.
• But they still have meals at her house.
• Their ages range between 9 – 11, mixture of boys and girls.
• Sweety tries to give special care to the paraplegic and disabled children.
• She is also the one that buys the coffins and tends to their burial.
• Their most desperate need is for food, toiletries, cleaning stuff, basic medical supplies like plasters / ointments etc.clothes and shoes.

Autoquip went out and bought them some food, toiletries, cleaning chemicals, plasters, savlon, t-shirts, and we packed party packs for each individual child. We then gave them the rest of the money to get blankets, matresses and whatever else they needed.
